How It Works
1. Set Your Base Currency
Your base currency determines how all values are displayed throughout the platform. To set:- Navigate to Settings → Organization
- Find Base Currency field
- Select your preferred currency (e.g., EUR, USD, DKK)
- Click Save Changes
2. Automatic Conversion
When you encounter values in different currencies, the system automatically converts:Example 1: CPM Benchmarks
Stored Data:- Platform: Instagram
- Country: United States
- CPM: $75.00 USD (original currency)
- Base Currency: EUR
- Displayed CPM: €70.09 EUR
- Exchange Rate: 1 USD = 0.934 EUR
- Calculation: $75.00 * 0.934 = €70.09
Original values are preserved in the database. Conversion happens on-the-fly when displaying data.
Example 2: Sponsorship Deal
Sponsor:- Based in: United States
- Contract Value: $50,000 USD
- Base Currency: DKK
- Displayed Value: 345,750 DKK
- Exchange Rate: 1 USD = 6.915 DKK
- Calculation: $50,000 * 6.915 = 345,750 DKK

Best Practices
✅ Do This
Set Base Currency Once- Choose during initial setup
- Match your primary market
- Stick with it for consistency
- Note source currency in comments
- Preserve original contract values
- Include exchange rate context in reports
- Exchange rates fluctuate over time
- Old conversions may differ from current rates
- Consider this when comparing year-over-year
- Exchange rates are date-specific
- Historical valuations use rates from that period
- Current valuations use today’s rates
❌ Avoid This
Changing Base Currency Frequently- Causes confusion in reports
- Historical data looks inconsistent
- Affects trend analysis
- Prone to errors
- Uses outdated rates
- Creates data inconsistencies
- System expects values in your base currency
- If entering foreign currency, use conversion field (where available)
Advanced Features
Multi-Currency Sponsorship Deals
For organizations with international sponsors:- Record Original Currency: Note sponsor’s native currency in deal notes
- Track Exchange Rate: Document rate at contract signing

- Exchange Rate: Rate used at that time
- Current Value: What it would be worth today

Troubleshooting
”Currency conversion unavailable”
Cause: Exchange rate API temporarily unavailable Solution:- Wait a few minutes and refresh
- System uses cached rates (up to 1 hour old)
- If persistent, contact support
Values don’t match expected conversion
Check:- ✅ Your organization’s base currency setting
- ✅ Today’s exchange rate (fluctuates daily)
- ✅ Whether value is historical (uses old rate)
- ✅ Rounding differences (values rounded to 2 decimals)
Different currency than expected
Likely Causes:- Organization base currency changed
- Viewing someone else’s organization
- Browser cached old settings
